Dental implants are often considered the pinnacle of tooth restoration because they function the most like your natural teeth. They include a titanium rod which is inserted into your jawbone and acts like a root. Because of this, at least 70% of your chewing ability is restored once your mouth heals. However, that doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want right away. Keep reading to learn 4 ways your diet can impact your dental implants!

#1: Improve Bone Health

Your dental implants, along with your teeth, require a firm foundation to stay in place. Vitamin D and calcium are two nutrients that strengthen your teeth and jawbone. Fortunately, there are a variety of foods that contain the ingredients you need. If you’re hoping to improve your bone health, look for these options:

  • Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, or mackerel.
